Special Needs Kids
 

 

The term Special Needs Kids is a broad, catch-all phrase that refers to children that can benefit from additional medical, psychological or educational support systems. My aim is to deploy my decades of experience in astrology, as well as my special needs education, so as to provide further support not captured in the evaluations, the diagnoses, or the educational plan. I will focus in on the wholeness of your child, apart from their “special needs”. This approach yields authenic approaches, paths and metacognitive strategies for your child’s greater well-being.

Difficulties or differences may be with: hearing, vision, cognition, motor-ability, language processing, sensory processing, auditory processing, visual-motor processing, non-verbal learning, dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia.

Children with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome may not see or react to social cues. They may have heightened abilities in pattern recognition, strong long-term memory skills, be advantageously detail-oriented or have the ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Gifted children are also said to have special needs. They may be more advanced academically, but perhaps not socially. These children also benefit from special academic curricula or support from counselors, parents and teachers to help them navigate their own unique differences and their academic and social needs.

Perhaps your child is also dealing with food allergies, developmental delays, anxiety or depression. It is critically important to consult the expertise in any of these areas, and astrology may have suggestions as well.
