Social and emotional functioning is foundational to a child’s success inside and outside the classroom. The ability to understand and control one’s emotions and the capacity to relate, in non-problematic ways, to others in the world around them are keys to your child’s well-being; particularly as, the emotional and social realms feed into one another. Children with special needs do not always experience difficulties with social and emotional functioning, but it’s not uncommon for these children to struggle in this arena.
